Americana Road

Batter Up

Like all bands we became Americana Road out of timing, location and relations. We began out of our favorite pastime, baseball!

Dan and Dave met at their grandsons' little league baseball game after both mentioned a love of strummin' and hummin'. Spending about a year together, Dan and Dave played with mutual friend John under the name of The Noonies. John told Yvonne about our group and she kindly accepted our invitation to play with us at one of our practices. John opted out to spend more time with his family which left Dan, Dave and Yvonne to press on and develop a library, sound and style. And sooner than you can imagine, they had mastered around 50 songs that were performance ready and worthy.

Performing twice locally with a new name not yet decided, it was agreed by all that a percussion backing was needed to complete the band. Through other music connections, Gerald was invited to keep the beat with us on cajón and he hasn't missed a step yet! Many names were considered (e.g. Lois and the Krypto-knights and Betty and the Boops), it was finally decided that Americana Road was a name that best fit the style and blend of music that we like: fun, dancing, drinking, romance and patriotism.
